Dr. Benjamin Fravel

Dr. Benjamin Fravel founded River Heights Endodontics in 2007 and has been proud to serve patients and dental professionals throughout the St. Croix Valley ever since. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to providing world-class endodontic care while building strong, collaborative relationships with the dentists and specialists in his community.

A graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, Dr. Fravel began his career serving as a dentist in the United States Navy, including an early assignment in Okinawa, Japan. He later returned to the University of Minnesota, where he completed his specialty training in endodontics and earned a Master of Science degree. Following his specialty training, Dr. Fravel returned to active duty in Coronado, California, where he was stationed at Naval Air Station North Island. During this time, he provided specialty endodontic care to members of the military community, including sailors assigned to the USS Ronald Reagan and members of the Navy SEAL community. He also had the opportunity to teach and mentor dental residents at Naval Medical Center San Diego.

Since founding River Heights Endodontics, Dr. Fravel has remained actively involved in continuing education at both the local and national level. His professional interests extend beyond endodontics to comprehensive dental treatment planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the thoughtful integration of emerging technology into patient care. He particularly values opportunities to learn alongside community dentists and to help create treatment solutions that provide the best possible experience and long-term outcomes for patients.

Outside of the practice, Dr. Fravel and his wife remain actively involved in their community through local business, their church, and humanitarian service. Dr. Fravel is actively involved with Action for Smiles, an organization committed to expanding access to dental care and supporting humanitarian dental efforts internationally.

With their three children now grown—two married and one in college—Dr. Fravel and his wife enjoy traveling with family and friends and staying connected to the St. Croix Valley community they have called home for nearly two decades. In his free time, he enjoys fly fishing, pickleball, and attempting to golf with friends—a life skill he readily admits he has yet to master.
